Over twenty soldiers were killed while several others were captured when Boko Haram insurgents attacked the military base at Gajiram in Nganzai Local Government Area of Borno State on Monday.
This was revealed to Breaking Times by sources on ground that the attack lasted over over five hours.
The insurgents were said to have come from the axis of Badu, about 45km on the semiarid desert to Gajiram and proceeded from Badu to Gajiram by 4pm in 9 fully-loaded pickup vans.
“The soldiers were overpowered by the insurgents, killing over 20 and taking many others as captives,” a resident who saw the insurgents lead soldiers away said.
Military equipment were also carted away by the insurgents.
