Tolu Odebiyi, the Chief of Staff to Governor Ibikunle Amosun of Ogun State has resigned his appointment.
Odebiyi, in a statement issued on Friday, a copy of which was obtained by our Correspondent, described Amosun as a visionary leader who impacted positively to the social economic situation of the State.
He commended Amosun for appointing him as the Chief of Staff and also his emergency as the Ogun West Senatorial Candidate of All Progressives Congress, APC, in the state.
The statement read, “The Senatorial Candidate of the All Progressives Congress for Ogun West and the former Chief of staff to the Governor, Chief Tolu Odebiyi has expressed deep appreciation to Governor Ibikunle Amosun for the opportunity given him to serve the people of Ogun State.
“Chief Odebiyi also expressed gratitude to members of the State Executive Council for their support and cooperation during the period he served as the Chief of Staff.
“The former Chief of Staff was pleased with the confidence Senator Amosun reposed in him by the appointment and the process that led to his emergence as the APC Senatorial Candidate.
“He described Governor Amosun as a visionary leader who impacted positively on the socio-economic development of the state.
“Chief Odebiyi vowed to make the progress of Ogun State paramount in all his future consideration.”
Daily Independent gathered that the relationship between Amosun has the Chief of staff went sour immediately after the primaries of the party in the state.
A close ally of the Governor who confided on Our Correspondent hinted that Odebiyi has been placed on security watch after it appeared to have dropped the Governor for the camp of the former Governor of the State, Olusegun Osoba.
Odebiyi was alleged to have been attending anti-Amosun meetings in the recent time.
